Biography

Deborah Derby is an Operating Partner at Garnett Station Partners. Over the course of her career, Deborah has acquired broad operational, supply chain, strategic, and general management experience in C-suite positions at large, multi-billion dollar public companies, as well as smaller, privately-held companies, combined with deep functional expertise in human resources and legal.

From May 2023 until the Company was acquired by Restaurant Brands International in May 2024, Deborah served as CEO & President of Carrols Restaurant Group (one of the largest Burger King franchisees in the world, operating almost 1,100 Burger King and Popeyes restaurants across 23 states) and as a board member from 2018. From 2016 – 2020, Deborah served as President of Horizon Group USA, during which time the company saw significant top-line and net income growth. Prior to that, Deborah had a 15-year career at Toys “R” Us, where she served in a variety of senior leadership positions, including EVP & Vice-Chairman, Chief Administrative Officer, President of Babies “R” Us, and EVP, Human Resources, Legal, PR & Communications. Deborah currently serves on the board of Henry Schein and as Chair of their Compensation Committee and, prior to that, served on the board of directors, and as the Chair of the Compensation Committee, at Vitamin Shoppe. Deborah has also held positions at Goldman Sachs, Miller Canfield Paddock & Stone, and Whirlpool Corporation.

Deborah received her BA from Harvard University and her MBA and JD degrees from the University of Notre Dame. She is a member of the Michigan Bar Association. Deborah was also named as one of 2019’s Most Influential Corporate Directors by WomenInc. Magazine.

Senior Advisors are not expected to be employed by GSP and will not perform services exclusively for the Fund or its portfolio companies. Operating Partners and Operating Executives may be employees of GSP and provide services to (or with respect to) one or more GSP Funds or their portfolio companies. Operating Partners’ and Operating Executives’ compensation (which may include, without limitation, without limitation, salary, carried interest, and expense reimbursement), transaction fees, options, participation interests, expense reimbursements or securities of a portfolio company or holding company, and/or a share of proceeds upon sale of a portfolio company or holding company) payable to such individuals is allocated to the relevant GSP Funds and/or portfolio companies to which such individuals provided services, and such amounts do not offset the relevant GSP Fund’s management fee and are not otherwise covered by the management fee.
